Passing Strangers

Passing Strangers is a Texas-based band known for their electronic rock sound and a hit remake of Dream Weaver. Active for over 30 years.
Passing Strangers is a San Antonio-based band founded by vocalist John Boyd. Over a career spanning more than three decades, they have been a prominent fixture in the Texas club scene. The band gained notable recognition for their electronic remake of Gary Wright's 1975 hit "Dream Weaver," featured on their debut EP, Moment In Time. This rendition became a club hit and received radio airplay across the U.S. and parts of Europe.
Throughout their extensive career, Passing Strangers have released five albums and performed frequently, including tours across the U.S. and shows overseas. They were active in the Dallas music community for 14 years and the Boulder/Denver music scene for 3 years before John Boyd returned to his childhood home in the San Antonio/Austin area in 2010.
In 2013, Boyd collaborated with guitarist Ray Tamez and producer Mattson Rainer to release his first solo album, Passing Strangers and Funny People. The band's enduring presence and energetic performances continue to captivate audiences, solidifying their status as a beloved act in the Texas music scene.

Having grown up in Texas, with over 25 years of Entertainment experience as a performer (vocalist/guitarist), production manager, and director, Derek knows what it takes to make it an extremely "real" experience for all audiences.
